There are many fantastic campgrounds scattered in and around the Avoca township. The scenery and atmosphere changes with each season, so no matter how many times you visit you can always experience something new.
Take a look through the following list of campgrounds and start planning your next Avoca adventure!
Located in the Park is a fantastic playground which includes swings, monkey bars, slides, toddler play area, shop front, and a large tunnel.
Beside the playground is a large gazebo with an electric barbecue, two picnic tables, and a water tap on the side. There is another picnic table located a short distance away in the camping area, surrounded by a cluster of beautiful trees.
The camping area is a large, clear, flat area between the barbecue/playground and the creek, and offers easy access for caravans. This campground is for caravans and motorhomes only. No tents permitted.
The toilet block is located by the playground and has disabled access.
This peaceful, spacious campground is located about 15 minutes drive from Avoca. The area is very popular for bushwalking, and the beautiful (but seasonal) Avoca Falls is located an easy 0.5 km walk away.
The campsite offers several large areas of flat, clear, grassy ground. There are picnic tables, wood fire barbecues, fire pits, toilets and an information sign.
The forest surrounding the Waterfalls Campground is excellent for 4wd and trail bike riding.
The campsite is suitable for self contained vehicles, plenty of space to park large vehicles and has a horse shoe entrance/exit making it easy for large vehicles to maneuver around in.
An undercover picnic table can be found here along with an information board about Adelaide Lead, describing the businesses that could be found here during 1851 to 1855 when gold was discovered.
