De Cameron Station, Elmhurst, was one of the earliest homesteads built in the district. It was located on the Wimmera River. Over time, the total acreage became 102,400 acres. The run was stocked with sheep and cattle. This picture gives us an idea of the massive loads carrying wool bales. This picture was taken in the early 1900s, as Clydesdale horses had replaced bullocks.
