Avoca is home to the Pyrenees Unearthed Wine & Food Festival as well as The Avoca Hotel, a beautifully-restored Victorian-era pub serving great food and local wine. But eating and drinking isn’t all you’ll do here – it’s a gorgeous part of the country, with ironbark forests, flora and fauna reserves, great spots to camp or picnic and lots of good bushwalking tracks.

  • Avoca Silo Art – In 2021, Avoca became Australia’s 47th painted silo art location along the Silo Art Trail and is the first silo to feature a glow-in-the-dark artwork.
  • Avoca Bottles and Collectables – this hidden gem invites you to poke around and find a rare or unique treasure.
  • Gallery 127 – The heritage-listed Avoca Railway Station has been restored and transformed into a gallery presenting exhibitions by local and regional artists.
  • Blue Pyrenees Estate – a visit to the cellar door will have you tasting their award-winning range of sparkling, red and white table wines which can be enjoyed with lunch in the onsite restaurant.
  • Avoca Historic Walk – Avoca’s history dates back to the 1850s when thousands came to the area searching for gold. The historic walk will guide you to the buildings still standing in their original condition.
  • Avoca Chinese Garden – Beautifully positioned overlooking the river flats, Avoca’s Garden of Fire and Water is a delightful attraction reflecting the Chinese heritage within the region.
  • Mount Avoca Vineyard – Visit the light-filled cellar door, which also features a barbecue, secure playground, picnic areas, and a lovely log fire in the winter.
  • Governors Rock Lookout and Avoca Waterfalls – Located within the Pyrenees State Forest, this vantage point lets you experience spectacular views of hills, bushland and farmland, as well as a seasonal waterfall that flows after steady rain.
